Countdown to Spirit in the City festival

There will be many kinds of music, workshops, a range of talks, a procession,  street outreach, time for quiet prayer and adoration, services of praise and worship,  a street party,  and much more - at this year's Spirit in the City Festival which  takes place in the heart of London's West End from 11-14 June. All the West End Catholic churches are joining in this popular annual event which takes over Leicester Square Gardens on the Saturday. The programme follows below: 

PROGRAMME

Wednesday 11 June 2014 7.30pm
Notre Dame de France, Leicester Place
Spirit-filled Medieval Chants
Early religious music, performed by the ‘Musique au Boschet’ Ensemble
Relax with the wonderfully haunting meditative sound of Medieval and Gregorian chants; let the healing sound of the human voices spiritually soothe you.

Our Lady of the Assumption & St Gregory Church, Warwick Street

1.15- 6pm
Sanctuary in the City: Eucharistic Adoration in the church throughout the day

2.30 - 3.30pm

Workshops:
Finding Joy in the Struggles of Life
The Joy of the Gospel

Evening Programme - SURPRISED BY JOY!
Our Lady of the Assumption & St Gregory Church, Warwick Street

7pm Joy to Celebrate: praise and worship
Joy to Receive: celebration of the Mass with Bishop John Arnold
Joy to Share: party with live music, refreshments, magician, caricaturist

Evening Programme: TRANSFORMED BY JOY

7pm Let the Joy Begin:Celebrating the transforming joy of God through praise and uplifting presentations

8.15pm Eucharistic procession from to Corpus Christi Church followed by night prayer and benediction


Saturday 14 June 2014 – ENJOY LIFE TO THE FULL!
Leicester Square Gardens, 12 noon – 8pm

* A rolling programme of music on the stage, including: Fr Rob Galea (Australia), Noel Robinson, Crossbeam and others
* Engaging Workshops and Catholic Q & A sessions
* Dedicated spaces for prayer and reconciliation

6pm Thanksgiving Mass in Notre Dame de France Church
8pm Closing of the programme in Leicester Square
