Prior General's Visitation

The Prior General’s Visitation to the Province takes place every six years.

The purpose is to meet all Brothers individually and / or as Communities. In the past, the Prior General or his representative also visited our services as they were part of the Brothers’ work.  With the creation of Saint John of God Hospitaller Ministries, which manages our services as a separate entity from the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God, the Prior General is still required to visit our services as he appoints the Ministries’ Board of Sponsors.

This year, General Councillor Brother Rudolf Knopp, who has particular responsibility for the European region, is conducting most of the visits beginning in Great Britain on 10th May and arriving in Ireland on 18th May. He will be joined in Ireland by Prior General Brother Jesus Etayo (pictured) from 1st - 7th June. General Councillor Brother Pascal Ahodegnon will conduct the Visitation in Malawi and Zambia.
