Solemn Profession of Br. Pascal Keita

On the Feast of All Saints, our Brother, Pascal Keita, from the African Province of Saint Augustine, made his solemn profession here at the General Curia at a ceremony attended by about fifty people.

Brother Pascal is currently studying a specific course on Formation at the Faculty of Education of the Pontifical Salesian University, in Rome.

Mgr. José Luis Redrado, Bishop of the Order, presided at the ceremony.

Brother Jesús Etayo, the Superior General, received Brother Pascal’s vows and reminded him, in his homily, ?never lose your passion to live the Hospitality which you have received from our Lord, and the passion to devote yourself wholly to those in need of your help. Be another John of God in the world, and help those under Formation to become Brothers of Saint John of God impassioned with devotion to the poor, the sick and all those in need.?

The ceremony was also attended by Brother Bartolomeo Kamara, Superior of the African Province of St Augustine, relatives and friends of Brother Pascal, Brothers from the three Roman Communities and the Co-workers of the General Curia.

Our newly-professed Brother chose a highly significant verse from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Hebrews: ?Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares?, signifying that Hospitality must always make us humble, and cause us to identify with others, sharing their lot and their pain, without distinction, and seeing in every one of them the face of the suffering Christ.

Let us pray for our Brother Pascal Keita, who has taken a major step forward, following Christ in the manner of Saint John of God.
