(ICN) - The Poverty of Jesus “frees us and enriches us”. Pope Francis wrote in his Lenten Message this year. His message concentrates on poverty, in particular on Christ's poverty. The Pope, in fact, begins by explaining that Jesus “became poor, so that by his poverty we might become rich”, as the theme of the message recalls, taken from the Second Letter to the Corinthians. Christ's choice for poverty, the Pontiff states, suggests a positive dimension the state of being poor.
