Glencairn Cistercians Launch New CD

Last weekend the Cistercian nuns in Glencairn, Co. Waterford launched a new CD recording of the community’s celebration of the Liturgy of the Hours in aid of the building needs of St Mary’s Abbey.

The CD will include the Hours of Lauds, Vespers and Compline and was recorded in the Abbey Church under the musical direction of Marjorie Moran, accompanied by organist Tim Fouhy, with Joe O’Dughaill as sound engineer.

“Many of our guests attending the Divine Office at the abbey over the years have remarked that they would appreciate being able to take home a recording of the community’s prayer as an aid to their own private prayer of the Hours,” said Sr Sarah Branigan, Vocations Director.

“We hope that this recording will meet their needs and be an encounter with God through the prayer of the Church for many.”

The CD Laudamus: Morning and Evening Prayer can be purchased through the website www.glencairnabbey.org
