Shopping Centres Focus for Vocation Sunday

Yesterday,Vocations Sunday, women and men from different religious congregations set up stands in Tallaght and Liffey Valley Shopping Centres.  With the central theme “could this be the more you are looking for…”  they were there to bring Christ and his call into the market place and to offer information on vocation to the religious life and priesthood, as well as programmes on discernment currently run by Vocations Ireland, the umbrella organisation for Relgious Vocation Directors in Ireland.  They were also there as a ‘faith presence’ in this year of faith and remind Christians that through our baptism we are all called to follow Christ.

Other events for Vocation Sunday took place in Clonmacnois and Killarney.  A prayer service for Vocations is now an annual event at Clonmacnois and over the past three years a pilgrim walk finishing with Mass and refreshments at the Francisan Friary in Killarney has been organised by the Munster Regional group of Vocations Ireland.
